enclosure.
An acrylic exercise pen is the best for comfort, practicality, and aesthetics. A low-cost option is the traditional wire pen.

hay.
A clean, first or second cutting timothy hay is best. Adding an orchard grass blend is a healthy treat. Hay is 80% of diet, should be unlimited.

pelleted food.
Pelleted food provides a source of protein and keeps bunnies feeling well-fed. We of course support our own blend of pellets. However, our other recommendations are below. Kalmbach, our choice, is only recommended for babies and nursing does due to the high fat/protein content. We feed our bucks and pets timothy pellets.

hay/food dishes.
A hay bag or wooden rack above the litter box keep hay clean with easy access. A small ceramic or glass bowl is best. Straight sided bowls are harder to flip.

water bowl.
A big heavy bowl works the best for water and is easy to clean. If your bun is a big drinker, a gravity waterer is also a good option. Bottles are generally not comfortable for bunnies.
litter box.
Dusky Lops choice of litter box is available in our store! Most 'rabbit' litter boxes are way too small - definitely avoid triangle boxes.
litter.
Pelleted bedding works the best for litter boxes. We recommend the Tractor Supply pine pellets. Paper pellets are another good option.
toys.
Bunnies love toys! Be sure to provide an assortment of safe chew toys for your bunnies for enrichment, fun, and prevention of overgrown teeth. Bunnies also love tunnels and dark hidey places. Stacking cups are a must have for endless fun! A lot of the toys we use are available in our store.

nail clippers.
You should trim your bunny's nails about every month. We offer nail trimming services for any bunnies, but trims can also be done at home.
brush.
Short-haired bunnies, like Holland Lops and Netherland Dwarfs, need grooming about once a week. For a de-shedding tool, the Sleek-EZ is perfect. The Hairbuster brush is good for detangling.
treats.
Treats are essential for bonding with your bunny, and teaching them tricks! Fresh or dried fruit can be used. We also use black oil sunflower seeds (BOSS) which can be found in bulk at your local feed store, or oats. Selective Naturals Meadow Loops are a fun treat as well.
bed.
Bunnies love a comfy place to flop. Any dog beds work, just make sure it is machine washable to make it easy for you! You can even make your own pillow, or use a fuzzy blanket. The snugglers as I call them work well for holding buns on your lap and not getting scratched. The buns also love to flop on them around the house.
